HIGH SHERIFF GOLF DAY RAISES £17,000
High Sheriff Richard Amphlett and his team organised a great fundraising Golf Day at Blackwell Golf Club near Bromsgrove on Friday 29 October, raising c £17k to support the High Sheriff Fund which is hosted by Worcestershire Community Foundation.
Sponsored by investment broker Charles Stanley, the event attracted 70 keen golfers who enjoyed a pre-golf breakfast, followed by a dinner and awards in the evening. The dinner included an interview with Simon Sherwood, Head of Ludlow Racecourse and former winner of Cheltenham Gold Cup on Desert Orchid in 1989. An auction with an array of amazing prizes from a villa in Portugal to a day’s shooting raised considerable funds.
Funds raised for the High Sheriff’s fund will be used to help local organisations which support mental health challenges in Worcestershire- a particularly pertinent cause in the wake of Covid which has had huge impacts on many people’s mental health and wellbeing.
