Emergency Fund Put Through Its Paces

Emergency Fund Put Through Its Paces

Thanks to Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue the Worcestershire Emergency Fund has been given a searching test in a simulated incident.

The test, which took place at Malvern Fire Station, examined how the Fund, which is run by Worcestershire Community Foundation, would respond to a severe flooding incident. The simulation looked at how the Fund would be launched and managed and how it would respond to calls for funding to support those who had suffered from the flooding.

Roger Britton, one of the Trustees said “ even though we knew it was only a test the Fire & Rescue Service had done a brilliant job and it felt like we were facing a real emergency. We learned a lot about how well we would cope and can now fine tune the arrangements.”

The Emergency Fund aims to distribute help through existing recognised charities and if there are any charities or community organisations who would like to be partners they should email rbritton@btinternet.com for more information.
